RIP Margaret Thatcher: 10 Right-Wing Films She Probably Loved

5. The Pursuit of Happyness (2006)

pursuitOfHappyness A downtrodden man with a child, trying to make it in the finance world. The IRS is garnishing his wages and homeless shelters are full. Thatcher would love to watch this movie just to show that the freebies are not going to help an intelligent man like Chris Gardner (portrayed by Will Smith). Gardner sticks to his dream of working an unpaid internship where he had a 1-in-19 shot of getting a full time position. Not only does he live with what little charity (which is barley giving him anything) he receives, he pushes forward and succeeds. That goes to show you that handouts don't help. At least, that's Thatcher's message from the movie.
