Robert Schwentke to direct CONSPIRACY OF FOOLS

I'm expecting the trailer for Robert Schwentke's adaptation of the brilliant novel THE TIME TRAVELER'S WIFE to hit the web any day now and I'm hoping this delay in marketing isn't because the film sucks or is suffering from any problems. The movie hits in June, but promotional material has been pretty sparse to date with only the odd photo hitting the web so far. But we're not talking about that movie here, we are talking about Schwentke and his next picture which looks to be another adaptation, but this time from a totally different avenue of genre.

From Variety...
Robert Schwentke is set to direct €œConspiracy of Fools,€ a Warner Bros. drama about the Enron scandal based on the Kurt Eichenwald book. The drama revolves around a tax attorney who joins the Houston-based energy company and peels back the layers of greed and fraudulent accounting to expose a financial scheme.
At one point, Leonardo DiCaprio was on board to produce and star in the picture but the actor has so much power in Hollywood these days, he always has more movies on his potential slate than he could ever possibly star in, especially when Scorsese keeps him so busy. The movie becomes the third high profile "fact based" drama that WB are developing right now with their Valerie Plame movie (which we found out yesterday would star Nicole Kidman) and the Alexander Litvinenko movie that they are trying to put together with Johnny Depp.
