Rocky: Every Final Fight Ranked Worst To Best

7. Creed Vs. Ricky Conlan (Creed)

Rocky 1976
Warner Bros.

The first heavyweight bout for Adonis Creed (Michael B. Jordan) pits the haunted up-and-comer against Liverpudlian star "Pretty" Ricky Conlan (Tony Bellow), a convicted felon aiming to right his wrongs.

This fight itself, punch for punch, is nothing new, and even ends as the original Rocky did -- with the eponymous character losing the match but winning the industry and fan's respect -- but it still acts as a powerful, strong indication of what Creed is made of and where he's destined to end up.

The best moment comes when Creed is knocked down and wills himself up for make the twelve round match's last bell. He may not have won the fight, but this sequence alone elevates the bout, and leaves you desperate for more of the young fighter's story.

I get to write about what I love, so that's pretty cool. Every great film should seem new every time you see it. Be excellent to each other.
