Rodriguez not shooting Sin City 2 next?

sin-city.jpgI respect Latino Review and their insider knowledge far more than most other websites who claim the same thing. These guys seem to know what they are talking about, and time and time again their scoops have been deemed accurate (such as the whole saga with Katie Holmes/Maggie Gyllenhaal in The Dark Knight). So here is what they are reporting today, and some of this stuff is just WACKY but with a nice Latin flavour... The biggest scoop and certainly the wackiest of the bunch is that they claim Robert Rodriguez won't be shooting Sin City 2 as his next movie. Instead he will be making a live-action version of The Jestons cartoon which will probably be another movie for his son after he made The Adventures of Shark Boy and Lava Girl for him. I still find this hard to believe though because Rodriguez has done nothing but talk about Sin City for months and he recently showed some footage to Joe Carnhan, so surely Sin City is his next move? Next they are telling us that the upcoming Street Fighter movie that is focusing on the female character of Chun-Li will star Jessica Biel in the title role. Well for a start the character is Asian so I'm not sure how it could work and personally I think Biel would be crazy to do this movie. The site claim that Kiera Knightley and Jessica Alba have already passed on the role, seemingly both having far more common sense than her. And lastly, the site are branding around some names who are locked in for the Bryan Singer WWII ensemble movie Valkyrie which will star Tom Cruise. Tom Wilkinson (awesome), Kenneth Branagh (could be good), Stephen Fry (wacky), Bill Nye and Patrick Wilson are all said to have been cast. The last story is certainly the easiest one to believe and should prove to be some fine casting. But the Rodriguez doing The Jetsons? I sincerely hope not... I wanna see my Sin City damnit! Latino Review tell us we can expect an official confirmation of all this soon... we shall see.
