ROGUE poster & trailer

"How fast can you swim?"

I heard a lot of people walked out of the Australian horror Wolf Creek three years ago and actually at the screening I attended an elderely couple were getting extremely uncomfortable with the film - though I think they managed to stick with it. Didn't look like they enjoyed themselves though. And neither did I. It was my least favourite film of 2005. Wolf Creek was an exercise in torture porn and was simply two hours of young men and women being the victims of a sadistic serial killer. It wasn't thrilling, exciting or of any value. It was 2 hours of just seeing someone tortured and when you consider how many British and American back-packers have gone to that country and this kind of thing has happened to them - well it just makes you sick to your stomach. I hated it. And that comes from someone who loved the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre - a film it was obviously paying close attention too. So Greg McLean's next film is Rogue and it follows an American journalist (Radha Mitchell) on assignment in the Australian outback encounters a man-eating crocodile. Aussie actor Sam Worthington co-stars. Are we set for the same kind of horrendous torture for two hours?

And the trailer...

The film was already released in Australia last November and begins a limited U.S. release from April 25th.

Just reminds me of last year's Primeval, though I will say from the limited shots we see of the Croc - this monster looks way better.
