Rose McGowan has test shot Barbarella for Rodriguez

Casting Couch, I threw in the name of Rose McGowan into the Barbarella mix and wouldn't ya know it, today Joblo are reporting that the Grindhouse actress has filled in to test shoot the role for director Robert Rodriguez. This is a technique that Rodriguez uses for all his films, as he tests out his fx technology at his Troublemaker Studio's and he regularly gets people he knows to fill in for him. So this doesn't mean that she has been cast as Barbarella but it probably means that she's in consideration. The test footage she has shot could very well be almost like an audition for her, so Universal Pictures can see if she is the right women to lead such a big film. Unlike Grindhouse, this is a studio picture for Rodriguez... so he can't make such a casting decision without their approval. Is Rose McGowan enough of a star or as talented enough for this movie? Well I'm probably bias because I like her quite a bit but I think she can do it. She carried Planet Terror just fine but I guess it's difficult for me to argue for her being marketable when she was the poster girl for that movie and it failed big time at the box office. Shooting should begin on this by the end of the year so it shouldn't be too long until we get some confirmation on this.
