Ryan Gosling joins The Lovely Bones

ryangosling.jpgRyan Gosling who has done one movie a year since 2002, has signed on for what looks to be his one movie of 2008. The movie in question is Peter Jackson's adaptation of The Lovely Bones where he has been cast as Rachel Weisz's husband despite being 9 years younger than the actress. For the last time with this movie, here is the plot from Variety...
Story revolves around a young girl who has been murdered and watches over her family -the actress. - and her killer -- from heaven. Girl must weigh her desire for vengeance against her desire for her family to heal.
Gosling is probably the most exciting young actor working today and as recently as last year he picked up an Oscar nomination for his performance in Half Nelson. Although I haven't seen Fracture yet, reviews were saying he was superb going toe-to-toe with Anthony Hopkins and of course we all know he was superb in The Notebook. Filming begins in October and although it wasn't exactly the next movie I wanted Peter Jackson to helm, I'm certainly glad to see him working on something and I'm still really excited for it.
