Sacha Baron Cohen: 5 Awesome Performances And 5 That Sucked

1. Alistair "Ali G" Graham - Ali G Indahouse (2002)

There was no doubt as to which character would hold the top spot. Ali G made Baron Cohen a star and his awkward, confrontational interview style inspired a generation of comedians. With TV audiences falling in love with the yellow jumpsuit wearing, patois spouting €˜voice of the yoof€™ it was inevitable that he€™d get a chance to headline his own foul-mouthed feature length adventure. The influence of Baron Cohen€™s most recognisable alter ego is made obvious by the roster of actors who signed up to be a part of his movie Ali G Indahouse way back in 2002. Martin Freeman, Michael Gambon and Charles Dance all starred, with the latter even donning a leather skirt and performing a dance routine which is something you must see to believe. The entire movie is immature comedy at its best, following Ali G as he attempts to save his local youth club and subsequently his entire town from being demolished to make way for a new Heathrow terminal. Allegations of horse fellatio, alternate uses for a phone€™s vibrate setting and a mansion full of marijuana all make an appearance. As an added bonus there€™s even a brief cameo by Borat. Under the guise of Ali G, Sacha Baron Cohen is at his comedic best; completely ridiculous, highly offensive and undeniably funny.
