Sally Jupiter, 40's pinup style!

Wow, would you look at this? It's a concept Vargas drawing of the Watchmen character Sally Jupiter (Carla Gugino) from her hey day of the 40's, when she was the world's favourite superhero and pinup girl.

Wonder Woman may fly around in bikini's, Catwoman may have her tight leather but give me this kind of innocent/naughty any day of the week. There's nothing like a piece of art to take you straight back into feeling like your from a certain time and place. Apparently this image is in Zack Snyder's movie and plays a significant part in the introduction of Sally in the movie. One thing that I'm particularly interested in with this Watchmen adaptation is how they handle the backstory and history of the original group of superhero's or which Sally was a part of. Without a sense of history, there is a massive gap of meaning from the text. Let's hope it's handle with care and Carla gets more than just a cameo in the film. source - aicn
