Sandy Wexler Review: 4 Ups & 6 Downs

2. It Has A Few Smart Jokes

It'd be easy to write off Sandler's new movie as completely braindead, but you know what? There are actually quite a few vaguely clever gags peppered throughout, particularly jokes that ironically reference the mid-90s setting with a meta tongue poked firmly in the cheek.

Blockbuster, Apple, Toy Story, Robert Blake, OJ Simpson and Phil Spector all get amusing name-drops, while Quincy Jones and Arsenio Hall play themselves two decades in the past with no reference made to how weirdly old they look.

Basically, if you're claiming you didn't laugh even a few times during the movie, you're probably lying, which is more than can be said for Sandler's two prior efforts on the streaming platform.
