Schwentke in talks for The Time Travelers Wife

schwentke.jpgThings finally seem to be coming together for the movie adaptation of Audrey Niffenegger'sThe Time Travelers Wife. We reported here recently that The Notebook star Rachel McAdams was in talks for one of the lead roles in the flick and that Stephen Frears and Robert Schwentke were the two favourites to helm the flick. Well it seems that Schwentke has been given the job over Frears as he is final talks with New Line over the project. More info from Coming Soon... "Based on the book by Audrey Niffenegger, the love story focuses on a couple in which the man has a genetic disorder known as "chrono-impairment," a condition that causes him to involuntarily travel through time". As I've said before the book is incredible and one of the best I've ever read. I think I would preffered Frears to direct the flick over Schwentke, but Flightplan wasn't the worst directed movie ever... it just had a terrible script. Book adaptations are hit and miss for the most part but the talent involved so far gives me hope. If they manage to get the casting for the role of Henry right, then there is no reason that the movie can't come close to being as good as the book. source - the hollywood reporter, coming soon
