SCREAM 4 begins shooting today

Scream 4 officially began filming today in Michigan, under the direction of series helmer Wes Craven and from the penmanship of creator Kevin Williamson. Access Hollywood's Nancy O'Dell was on the set (so we can expect a video reel or something to come) and took this snap of franchise star Neve Campbell, who will play Sidney Prescott with shorter hair and shorter screen time than previously, playing more of a supporting role this time around. What we know; Scream 4 is the first of a new trilogy, set in Woodsboro ten years after the events of Scream 3 and a decade after the last appearance of the Ghostface killer. Neve Campbell, Courtney Cox and David Arquette reprise their roles from the trilogy, but as supporting players. It will be released on April 15th 2011 release. Emma Roberts leads as Jill Kessler (cousin to Sidney), Hayden Panettiere as Kirby Reed (nerdy film geek and Jill's best friend), Rory Culkin (as Charlie, a love interest for Jill). Gossip Girls' Lauren Graham (as Jill's mother), Nico Tortorella (Trevor - high-school jock), Anthony Anderson (as a cop) support, along with a bunch of unknowns.
