Scream VI: 22 WTF Moments

6. The Unconvincing Kirby Fakeout

Scream VI
Paramount Pictures

The third act makes an hilariously flimsy attempt to convince the audience that Ghostface can only be one person - Kirby.

At the shrine, Sam receives a call from Detective Bailey explaining that Kirby has been on a downward spiral since the Woodsboro murders last year, and that she was fired by the FBI two months ago for being mentally unstable.

This, combined with the fact that Kirby insisted she be the only person at the cinema with a gun, is enough to convince the heroes that she's the killer, even if for anyone already highly suspicious of Detective Bailey, it just feels like an obvious deflection.

Kirby being the new Ghostface would've been too ridiculous, even for this franchise, and so it was tough to buy into the possibility that it could ever be true.
