Seeking a Friend for the End of the World Trailer Hints at Fun Apocalypse!

Steve Carell & Keira Knightley star in the June 22nd released life-affirming romance movie.

After the reveal of the poster yesterday, Focus Features have now released the trailer for their apocalyptic, life-affirming romance movie Seeking a Friend for the End of the World over at Yahoo Movies. Set in a not too distant future, the movie follows an unlikely friendship/romance between a guy (Steve Carell) and a younger female neighbour (Keira Knightley) as they set out to find the former€™s high school sweetheart when his wife leaves him on the eve of an apocalypse. The trailer also reveals another reason for Knightley's character to make the trip with Carell and that is to find her family before the world ends. The pacy trailer, smartly scored to 'Road to Nowhere' also reveals a few cameos along the way including sex-craved Patton Oswalt, a high waiter in T.J. Miller who look to be serving food until closing time on life and Melanie Lynskey, with others promised. The movie looks to live up to the huge promise of the concept with Carell's usual straight man fitting comfortably in this high-concept scenario and Knightley being the energetic hope. Very, very interested in this one; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T43InzvBm-k Seeking a Friend for the End of the World marks the directorial debut of Nick & Norah€™s Infinite Playlist screenwriter Lorene Scafaria and it opens June 22nd.
