Seth Rogen: 5 Awesome Performances And 5 That Sucked

4. Britt Reid/The Green Hornet - The Green Hornet

In all honesty, The Green Hornet wasn€™t nearly as bad as the trailers would have led you to believe but from the get-go, it was always going to be a tough nut to crack. The central plot centers around a hero who is constantly outmatched by his sidekick. On top of that, it was the first time Seth Rogen was put into a quasi-superhero€™s shoes. Can you realistically take someone as normal and lovable as Seth Rogen and make us fear him?

The answer was mostly €œno€. Although Kato was certainly bad-ass (even if you couldn€™t always understand what he was saying), Seth Rogen is too much of an ordinary guy for us to believe that he can pull off some of the stuff that the Green Hornet does. Don€™t get me wrong, him being a €œnormal guy€ is certainly part of the plot and adds a bit of appeal. But it€™s a problem that the viewers can never really be on board with 100%. By the time the finale rolls around, its hard to believe anything we see him do. Its kind of like imagining the most lazy guy at your job being a kickass masked hero.

It's an admirable try but it simply doesn€™t gel on the screen. A big case of a good actor and a good role but not the right actor in the right role.
