Shawn Levy giving us a FATHER FIGURE

Variety is that Levy is to write and produce FATHER FIGURE, a 'dramedy' setup at Fox 2000. Actor turned writer Tom McCarthy (THE VISITOR) is re-working on an initial draft from Mark Freidman (HOME OF THE BRAVES)...

Story centers on a successful bachelor who boldly offers to care for his widowed sister and her daughters in the aftermath of a family tragedy.
Levy has spent the year since the mega smash NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM making various deals all over the place. He was attached to direct the superhero movie THE FLASH (but is no longer), the canine comedy MARLEY & ME (but is no longer), the Tom Cruise/Ben Stiller comedy THE HARDY MEN and the college satrical comedy/drama THE OVERACHIEVERS. All that and NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM 2 which has a Spring start. OH, how I'm looking forward to that one next Christmas (sarcasm).
