007 made quite an impression during the Olympic's opening ceremony last night, escorting the Queen out of a helicopter and skydiving into the stadium below, but that wasn't his only appearance. A 30-second TV spot for Skyfall aired during the opening ceremony last night, and showed some glimpses of new footage. The TV spot, which can be seen below, gives us a good look at the stunning cinematography from Roger Deakins, whose previous work includes No Country For Old Men, True Grit, and The Shawshank Redemption. Deakins doesn't look to be holding anything back with this film, and it looks extraordinary. Though the spot is mostly composed of quick cuts, there are some small bits and pieces that stand out, including a thrilling look at an action scene on a train that ends with Bond fixing his cuff links like a pro. Skyfall's plot has been kept mostly under wraps, but here's the brief summary released by MGM:
Bonds loyalty to M is tested as her past comes back to haunt her. As MI6 comes under attack, 007 must track down and destroy the threat, no matter how personal the cost.

Skyfall is directed by Sam Mendes and stars Daniel Craig, Javier Bardem, Ralph Fiennes, Naomie Harris, Bérénice Marlohe, Ben Whishaw, Helen McCrory, Rory Kinear, Albert Finney and Judi Dench. It will be released in the U.S. on November 9, and from the look of things, you won't want to miss it.
