Slender Man Review: 2 Ups & 7 Downs

4. All The Product Placement

Sony

If you've seen more than a handful of Sony-distributed movies, you're probably aware of how they love to awkwardly shove their own products into as many of their films as they possibly can.

Slender Man, having an obvious focus on technology, was apparently ripe for Sony to shill their own wares, as the movie features some staggeringly egregious product placement for Sony mobile phones.

So many shots in this movie are framed strategically to ensure that the Sony logo is visible while a character is watching a Slender Man video or texting a friend.

Dell also certainly gets their money's worth here, with literally about a dozen scenes in the film featuring characters hunched over Dell computers while they research Slender Man.

Sony obviously figured that teen audiences wouldn't notice, but those adults among us who dared to suffer through it? Oh, we noticed.
