1. It Definitely Sets Up A Solo Franchise

In recent weeks, rumours have begun swirling that Disney is planning to make a trilogy of Han Solo prequel movies, and now that the movie is opening to a surprisingly positive reception, it's easy to see why.

This sentiment is reflected by those who've seen it, who state that the film very blatantly sets up a world and cast of characters who can return for future instalments.

It'll be interesting to see just how many of the new characters actually survive the events of the movie, but clearly, there's plenty of time to fill between Solo and A New Hope, so at least Lucasfilm won't need to fudge the continuity to make it work.
