9. The First Act Is A Mess

Much like Rogue One, Solo is being criticised for its uneven first act, which is apparently a little on the clumsy side and doesn't get the movie off to the best start.

However, there's a general agreement that once the first reel is done with, it settles into a far more comfortable and agreeable rhythm as the central heist narrative kicks off.

Considering the movie clocks in at 135 minutes, it's a bit of a shame that the first 45-ish minutes seem to be rather sloppy, which could perhaps be a result of the directorial shift mid-shooting.
