The Harrison Ford incarnation of the Han Solo character has endured as a hero thanks largely to his morally flexible attitude. He's depicted, at least in A New Hope, as a merciless crook who's only joining forces with the heroes in order to earn the money he needs to pay off his debt to Jabba the Hutt.

There's no such moral flexibility to the Alden Ehrenreich version of Han Solo, who is portrayed as virtuous and idealistic. Late in the film, he has a conversation about his personality with Qi'ra, who claims Han would be shocked and appalled by some of the things she has done. She refers to Han as "a good guy", while he prefers to think of himself as a roguish bad boy.

It's a moment likely to have Star Wars fans rolling their eyes. The exchange is a nod to the man Han will eventually become, but it's one that is completely at odds with the portrayal of the character throughout Solo. There is very little hint that this man will ever become Harrison Ford, so this line is a groan-inducing nod to a future that seems incompatible with everything in this movie.
