8. The Beginning Of A Partnership

Star Wars has seen masters and apprentices aplenty, but no duo is more iconic than the smuggler and the Wookie.

Han Solo and Chewbacca are two of Star Wars' biggest figureheads, and the fact they'll be linking up for a prequel should come as no surprise to series regulars. They're the definition of a perfect partnership, and with their friendship having spanned decades, it makes sense for it to be a focal point of a Han Solo prequel.

Some fans were left aggrieved by the way in which Han's death was seemingly glossed over in The Force Awakens' final act, as well as in The Last Jedi's beginning, so it's not difficult to imagine Solo making up lost ground for that in May. Rogue One already illustrated the power of how prequels can force an entire reappraisal of an older film (in its case A New Hope), and with Han's fate already set in stone, Solo could just be one of the more emotional Star Wars films out there.

Irrespective of whatever emotional weight there is to be had with the Chewie/Han relationship, it'll just be great to see the two link-up for the first time in their careers - an aspect Solo is bound to have plenty of fun with.
