Solo: A Star Wars Story - 10 Reasons To Be Excited
5. Old EU Characters Returning
Old Star Wars fans might've been upset when Disney rolled up and moved all of the old Expanded Universe into a 'Legends' category - effectively rendering it out of canon - but the House of Mouse haven't been entirely opposed to resurrecting elements from it. Grand Admiral Thrawn is a staple of Star Wars Rebels, and even DICE have been keen to resurrect elements from old Star Wars games in their Battlefront reboot, with weapons from the Jedi Knight series having cropped up in the most recent sequel.
For Solo: A Star Wars Story, Lucasfilm Story Group are bringing across even more characters from the old canon, including Tag & Bink, who comics fans may remember from Dark Horse's old Star Wars comics. They were a comedy duo, and while they're a fairly innocuous addition to the new canon, their reintegration into the mainstream timeline has set a precedent of things to come. Small things, granted, but things nonetheless.
Could it be that Kyle Katarn could enter the scene? Or maybe even the Knights of the Old Republic if Lucasfilm were to head way, way into the past? It's possible, and if audiences warm to Tag and Bink, those new arrivals could come a lot sooner than expected.
