Qi'ra is one of Solo's most pivotal characters, and the genesis of her name is especially interesting, considering it's almost certainly recycled from The Force Awakens.

In the early stages of Episode VII's development when Michael Arndt was still onboard, Rey (Daisy Ridley) was going to be named Kira, but somewhere along the line plans changed, and she received her ultimate moniker.

Given the proximate release of both movies, it's not a leap at all to suggest that Qi'ra was adapted from Kira, and though some fans have certainly read too much into this (that it implies Qi'ra could be Rey's mother), it's still a neat nod to what almost came to fruition.
