Solo is almost Chewbacca's movie as much as it is Han's, showing the origins of their partnership and how the pair go from a deadly fight to saving each other.

We've long been used to him as Han's co-pilot, and that's the role he serves in this movie, going with him every step of the way and bringing a lot of humour and heart to the movie.

Unlike the last couple of episodes, he really gets time to shine and a number of memorable moments, including a touching scene with a fellow Wookiee on Kessel. Far more so than Qi'ra, Beckett, or even Lando, Chewie's relationship with Han is the most important one to get right here, and the movie sparks whenever they're on screen together.
