And here it is: probably the most telling piece of evidence with regards to Christoph Waltz's true identity in Spectre. And it's a somewhat simple clue, really, all things considered. When they first announced the cast list for Spectre at the 007 Soundstage event at Pinewood Studios last year, most of the actors were presented to audience with their own names and their character names. Except for Christoph Waltz. It was only later on that "new details" emerged about the mysterious villain (namely on the Bond Twitter-feed), and suddenly we were told that he was playing somebody called "Oberhauser," which seemed... curious? Now, we know the character's full-name, but what's with all the secrecy? Why was he unnamed, and then "Oberhauser," and then "Franz Oberhauser?" It seems like a lot of trouble to go to if his name really is that basic. This confusing approach on behalf of the Spectre filmmakers - whether it was employed on purpose or by accident - seems like pretty concrete evidence with regards to Franz Oberhauser being anybody other than Franz Oberhauser. If it turns out that Waltz is actually playing said character - and he was telling the truth all along - such a reveal might end up being an even bigger surprise than his turning out to be Blofeld ever could. But he's Blofeld. He's definitely Blofeld... right? Like this article? What are your theories with regards to Christoph Waltz, Franz Oberhauser and Blofeld? Think the actor is telling the truth?
