6. Jessica Drew & Alistair Smythe Appear

Rumour:

That same leak mentions the introduction of two more supporting characters from the Spider-Man comics. First, Jessica Drew would appear working for MI6 (though not super-powered, at least at this stage) on the trail of Mysterio in Europe.

And on top of her, Alistair Smythe would also appear as a manipulative technology prodigy who is determined to upstage Peter Parker and whose father works for Stark Industries.

Reaction:

That sort of approach to supporting characters would fit with how Homecoming introduced recognisable names, and with Sony apparently planning further Spider-Verse movies, seeding Jessica Drew this way in order to spin her off into her own Spider-Woman movie would also make sense.

The only doubt creeps in when you consider how many characters would be included if every one of these rumours was true. But then, Homecoming did have a pretty swollen cast too and that didn't work out too badly.
