We've already mentioned how Far From Home could perhaps be considered the MCU's most important movie to date, and a lot of that comes down to the fact it's kicking off the most anticipated phase of the MCU.
We've heard "distinctly different" this and "brand new" that, and while things don't get much more familiar than Spider-Man, the fact that he's literally far from home intimates the unusual position Marvel are now in - Spidey will be the one to make that change happen by being placed in a context neither himself nor the audience associate the character with.
It's a lot of pressure to manage, but if any character can, it's Spidey.

He started his own podcast, We Love Dad Movies, in 2022, and has contributed several written pieces to the Eisner-nominated comics website Shelfdust as well.
In his current role, Ewan incorporates his love of cinema, comic books, and history into written pieces and video essays for WhatCulture's Film & TV channel, as well as WhatCulture Gaming and WhatCulture Horror, with a particular focus on nineties-era Dad Movies, old school Westerns, and Golden Age Hollywood Noir. John Carpenter is his fave, and he thinks Batman Beyond should never have been cancelled. If that's your vibe, you'll probably like his stuff.
