16. It Will (Partially) Be Set Abroad

Since Far From Home started to ramp up production we've known that it'll be set abroad. As for where specifically, well, we know of at least two locations. Filming has taken place around the London area for a few months now, and with Tom Holland having also released a set video that contains references to Venice, we can safely assume that Italy will come up at some point too.
The reason for all this globetrotting? Well, if reports are to be believed, it all ties into a villain with 'elevated' ideas. As for which villain that is (Far From Home has several) that remains unclear, but the idea of taking Spidey out of his comfort zone is a compelling one all the same.
Add to that the fact we've never really seen the character in a non-US setting (barring Infinity War's interplanetary action), and it becomes apparent just how different this new Spidey film is shaping up to be.

In his current role, Ewan incorporates his love of cinema, comic books, and history into written pieces and video essays for WhatCulture's Film & TV channel, as well as WhatCulture Gaming and WhatCulture Horror, with a particular focus on nineties-era Dad Movies, old school Westerns, and Golden Age Hollywood Noir. John Carpenter is his fave, and he thinks Batman Beyond should never have been cancelled. If that's your vibe, you'll probably like his stuff.
