Spider-Man: Far From Home - Everything We Know So Far

10. ...And This Could Mean A Change Of Genre

Whichever way you look at it, the sequel to Spider-Man: Homecoming is looking to shake things up dramatically, and though there's been talk of there being a "high school trilogy" of sorts for the MCU's wall-crawler, it's looking increasingly likely that the espionage genre will be a key influence for Far From Home. While this isn't alien territory for the MCU (Winter Soldier and Civil War found success as politically-charged espionage thrillers), it certainly is for Spidey, who tends to stay away from S.H.I.E.L.D. as best he can in the comics.

By now, it's become pretty clear that Spidey is being taken out of his comfort zone. Perhaps not as drastically as he was in Infinity War, but this world of spies still isn't traditional territory for Peter Parker.

At the very least, it illustrates that not only will this latest phase of the MCU feel "distinctly different", but that the Homecoming trilogy will too.
