9. Zendaya IS Mary Jane
As was long suspected, Disney Channel star Zendaya is not actually playing "Michelle" as her billing supposedly suggests: she's actually Mary Jane.
According to "scoopers" The Wrap, the Michelle billing is no more than misdirection and she's actually the long-running girlfriend of Peter Parker from the comics.
As Vulture clarified after the news was revealed, it was SUPPOSED to be a secret until the end of the film, but scoopers gonna scoop, and it's now spoiled. And as much as a certain type of fan will be upset by the race-swap, it's a great move to reflect Queens' diversity by having a non-white MJ.
