Alongside villain problems, the MCU's next biggest issue is its one with women. Sure, she may be his most prominent love interest in later life, but is anyone else a bit sick of seeing M.J. clogging up some valuable Spidey screen time?

Admittedly Gwen Stacy took up the past two films, but that was all for the pay off of her iconic death scene. Kirsten Dunst soon wore weary in the original trilogy of films, and I was personally a little annoyed when actress/singer Zendaya was tipped to play the flame-haired Mary Jane Watson in Homecoming. Thankfully, the latest news is that not all is as it seems, and Zendaya really will be playing her call-sheet character "Michelle."

Does this mean that Laura Harrier's Liz Allan will be the romantic interest in Homecoming? It would certainly stir up a nice bit of trouble between Peter Parker and Flash Thompson (played by Tony Revolori), as in the comics Flash was dating Allan at the time that Peter tried to put his romantic moves on her.

However, in the comics Liz has more ties to Harry Osborn, with the two eventually marrying and having a child together. It will be interesting to see how Liz fits into the high school Parker storyline, but as for Zendaya, her character could just be misdirection and it really will all be the Mary Jane show - I just hope not!
