12. "I Already Have A Date"

A lot of Homecoming's best gags stem from how well it captures the inherent awkwardness of the high school experience, particularly through a student news channel shown several times during the film.

The funniest gag from these asides has a male student asking Betty Brant (played by the brilliant Angourie Rice) out to the homecoming dance live on the air, at which point she responds that she already has a date, and the cameraman awkwardly zooms in on the poor kid's terminally embarrassed face.

It's pure, unadulterated cringe, and perfectly reflects how uncomfortable these moments can be for all involved. Glorious.
