8. The Washington Monument Security SUCKS

Very much in the same vein as the poor security at Peter's school, the checks in place at the Washington Monument are absolutely terrible.

It might not be a target of interest for terrorists, but there are scanners set up to X-ray all visitors' bags and to make sure they aren't carrying anything dangerous about their person, so there's obviously some concern.

Except, they still manage to miss the obviously glowing Chitauri grenade that Ned unwittingly takes through the scanner. Apparently seeing that on the screen didn't raise any eye-brows at all.
