Spider-Man: Homecoming - 6 Things You Need To Know About The Vulture

3. The Vulture Has Died

One of the more unique aspects of The Vulture is his age. Unlike most comic book villains, he is past retirement age, but still physically carries out his heists and battles Spider-Man. Yet, as seen in the pages of Amazing Spider-Man #48, age seemed to have finally caught up with The Vulture as he lay on his deathbed in prison, with less than an hour to live.

After telling his cellmate Blackie Drago where his Vulture costume had been hidden, Adrian Toomes supposedly died. But then, as with any comic book character, a simple thing like death couldn’t keep him down for long (it also wouldn't be the only time he'd die interestingly enough).

The original Vulture returned in Amazing Spider-Man #63, a little over a year after his supposed death. Evidently, his “will to live grew stronger” than his illness. No other explanation is ever given and the story quickly moves on from his "death."
