5. Peter Parker Has Made A Familiar Friend

Peter Parker is a loser, always has been, but at least he has always had a best friend. In all of the films so far, this friend has been the millionaire heir Harry Osborne, but Spider-Man: Homecoming looks to be going in a different direction. Newcomer Jacob Batalon is playing new friend Ned Leeds, with the comic book inspiration clearly coming from that of chubby BFF Ganke Lee, even showing him playing with Lego, his favourite hobby.

Ganke has never been friends with Peter before and is actually associated with a completely different, black suit sporting Spider-Man, Miles Morales. Maybe they had a falling out but Ganke needed to fill the gap of being friends with a wall-crawler, who knows?

Taking inspiration from the relationship between Miles and Ganke opens up a whole new dynamic, with the friendship between the two often being the emotional backbone of a lot of the stories. The trailer even shows us that Ganke...sorry, Ned, will know Peter's secret which again is a somewhat new direction for the movies.

Whether this makes the existence of Miles more or less likely in this universe is open to debate...
