In the meme-based milieu of 2018, the original Spider-Man animated series has proven to be a rich resource. The show was cheap, repeated footage constantly, and Spider-Man himself wasn't the most articulated character ever. There was the catchy theme song of course, but nothing has managed to stop Spider-Man from becoming a veritable goldmine of internet-based memery over the last decade.

So, in comes the post-credits sequence for Into the Spider-Verse. Miguel O'Hara unlocks the ability to hop through dimensions and travel through time, and decides to go back "to the beginning", which in this case turns out to be 1967 - the time the original Spider-Man cartoon aired.

What ensues makes for one of the film's most hilarious sequences, whereby both Spider-Men engage in a pointing match with the other. The audio's all old and crackly, the animation is completely stilted, and it's absolutely wonderful.

You won't find a post-credits scene that's better.
