Another non-Marvel reference - this time focusing on US TV crime drama Law & Order.
Jefferson Davis, voiced by Brian Tyree Henry, is a member of the NYPD and Miles' dad. Early on, when we're first introduced to the Morales family, Jefferson gives Miles a lift to school. It's a brilliant sequence - one that establishes the relationship between Jefferson and Miles perfectly - but there's another reference that's bound to go over a lot of people's heads too, on Davis' license plate.
The plate for the cop car is RFD-960, which is the same plate on the car the series' protagonists used throughout its airtime.
