Spider-Man: No Way Home: 24 WTF Moments

8. Andrew Garfield's Spider-Man Gets Fully Redeemed

Perhaps the best part of the final battle, and of the entire third act really, is how brilliantly it redeems Andrew Garfield's Spider-Man.

Despite Garfield's strong performance as the character in the two Amazing Spider-Man films, he never really got a fair shake due to the mediocrity of the scripts. However, his supporting role in No Way Home massively remedies that and his unceremonious departure from playing the character.

It's clear that Garfield's Peter is still traumatised by Gwen's death, stating that he's lived with rage and despair ever since, calling himself "lame" and mockingly discussing his battles with Rhino in the past compared to his new pals' clashes with Venom and Thanos.

But Maguire's Peter stops him at that moment and assures him that he's amazing, in one of the film's most touching moments.

But the pièce de résistance? When MJ nearly falls to her death from a scaffold during the final battle and Holland's Peter is prevented from saving her by the Goblin, Garfield's Peter swoops in and brings her safely to the ground.

It's a wonderfully cathartic moment for both the character and the audience, bringing closure to this Peter's pain and serving as one hell of an epilogue for the character's story, assuming this is probably the last time we'll ever see him on screen.
