Spider-Man: Homecoming - 13 Biggest Rumours You Need To Know (July 4th)
2. Spider-Man Will Fight Iron Man (And The Sinister Six Will Appear)
This one is going back a considerable time, but according to Latino Review, Spider-Man will be required to fight Iron Man as an audition for joining the Avengers team. Because Tony Stark is in the habit of all-out combat with children, of course.
The same leak suggested that Drew Goddard would be directing (strike one) and that the movie would once again concentrate on bringing The Sinister Six together to later spin-off into their own movie.
Rating: 1/10
Why would an existing Avenger need to audition to join the Avengers exactly? Particularly when the Avengers aren't really a thing by the end of Civil War?
It also seems entirely ridiculous that Marvel would follow the same narrative track that Sony did for The Amazing Spider-Man and set up the Sinister Six, even if Sony are still allegedly planning to spin-off the supervillain ensemble at some point in the near future.
