Star Trek 3: 10 Aliens That Have To Appear

7. The Gorn - Arena

the gorn Of course, if you wanted to bring back a memorable alien from the classic series in style, then look no further than the Gorn. This reptilian race is ripe for a makeover. (I know one sort of appeared in the mirror universe episodes of Star Trek: Enterprise but that€™s quite a few years back now€) Like Balok, the Gorn are a memorable alien (who wouldn€™t love to see a big screen reinterpretation of Kirk€™s battle with the Gorn commander from the classic episode Arena?) but also serve as a clean slate. We know very little about this race other then naming claim to planet and loosing. The mirror universe had a Gorn, Slarn, was a slaver, which could form the starting point for a Gorn story (perhaps one of the crew is sold into slavery by an invading Gorn force?). Alternatively as mirror universe episodes showed characters and races in a very different light, we could see something entirely new. Brilliant military officers or sly traders? A noble race or primal warriors? If the writers are coming up with a new, memorable alien race for their next story, a reinterpretation of the Gorn could be just what they€™re looking for.
