Their species was ravaged by a disease that rots away their organs, so on multiple times they tried to kidnap Voyager crew members to harvest their organs, even trying to steal B’Elanna Torres’ Klingon side so that they could use the DNA to create a cure.

This alien species was in a terrible situation, but their uncompromising devotion to self preservation made them an enjoyable enemy.
