Star Trek 50th Anniversary: 10 Things That Must Happen

7. Start Building The USS Enterprise

No, we haven't gone mad. Back in 1992, the Goddard Group almost secured a deal to build a full size replica of the USS Enterprise-NCC-1701-A in the heart of Las Vegas. It was an extremely ambitious project that failed only when the CEO of Paramount balked; his concern was that there would so much attention, so much money pouring into this project, it would ultimately fail if Star Trek died a death. As we know, fifteen years later, the TV and movie franchise came to a grinding halt. But imagine it. A full sized replica of the USS Enterprise filled with restaurants, rides, tours and live entertainment. Las Vegas might have its own Star Trek experience but this could be something else altogether...all for a cool $150 million. With the 50th celebrations upcoming, just how awesome would it be for this legendary project to finally be realised with the announcement of the construction of the USS Enterprise-NCC-1701-A? Now we've looked at the celebrations, let's looked to the stories themselves, the most important part of the franchise. Click NEXT for our thoughts on what Star Trek 3 needs to do to be a success...

I aim to achieve my goal for writing for television (and get my novels published) but in the meantime I'll continue to write about those TV shows I love!
