Star Trek Beyond: Ranking Every Character From Worst To Best

One of the biggest disappointments about Beyond is that the only female of the core Trek crew ends up feeling cruelly under-served.

Her place in the film is pretty much this: she's got relationship woes with Spock, she briefly helps out, faces off against the bad guy, finds out a revelation, and restores her personal status quo by the time the film ends.

It does nothing interesting or really especially memorable with the character, which is a huge shame given the enormous potential. She could very easily have been written out of the movie given how little she actually contributes to it, which is pretty damn sad to say in a time where people are rightly asking for more prominent, strong female characters.
