Star Trek Into Darkness: 10 Great Things (And 10 Not So Great Things)

10 Not So Great Things

10. Klingon's Response Time (Or Lack Thereof)

hr_Star_Trek_Into_Darkness_27 So our crew after taking out a couple of patrols on the Klingon home-world of Kronos, are stranded without the ability to go to warp. Apparently the Klingons do not bat an eye at a Federation task force wiping out dozens of their warriors or an entire ship being so close to the home-world because the Enterprise just sits and waits in Klingon space for seemingly hours unbothered. What, were they just embarrassed that one man single-handedly took down a garrison of their troops to go after the ship he went to? Doesn't sound like the honor-bound warrior race to me...

9. Starfleet's Response Time (Or Lack Thereof)

Star Trek Into Darkness Enterprise damaged What is it with government's response time in the 23rd century? So the Enterprise and war-ship prototype USS Vengeance (Subtle...) are in a heated space battle in the Solar System, then near the Earth's Moon, then in Earth's very Atmosphere. Where was the Federation Fleet during all this? This is the heart of the Federation with a whole space dock with several vessels in orbit, what were they up? Sitting on their hands during the whole fight? Now, of course, Admiral Marcus (I'll just call him Admiral Robocop from now on, alright with everyone?) could've sent all the near Earth vessels away as a cautionary measure just in case the Enterprise reached Earth, but how suspicious would that look though? You're ordering Earth's last line of defense to leave the planet helpless? At the very least someone on the station or earth should've patched a call to either ship to ask what in hell was going on...
