10. It Was The Hardest Sci-Fi Story Of The Movie Era
Hard sci-fi is difficult to find, especially in the movies. Its also rather hard to define, but Id say its mostly science fiction that centers on science, and exploring scientific concepts, rather than anything else. The mid 90s Jodie Foster movie Contact is a good example of this.
Now Im not going to call this movie hard sci-fi by any means, but its the closest we get in any of the movies. This is a movie, like all quality sci-fi movies, that isnt afraid to make the audience think; to make them consider their place in the universe.
