While not technically a fan creation, with the amount of sweat and tears fans put into this, it just had to be number one. After years of languishing in the Tunisian sun, the Lars Homestead had fallen into major disrepair. A Belgian Star Wars fan, Mark Dermul, who led fan tours of the filming locations, decided something had to be done. He started a website, Save The Lars Homestead, and worked along side the Tunisian Tourism Office and Tunisian government to raise over ten thousand dollars in ten months. On the 35th anniversary of Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope, May 25th 2012, he and his group traveled to the sun-baked Tunisian desert and began work on the ambitious project, plastering and patching the movie landmark over the course of only seven blistering days! Leaving it a brilliant white, and letting the elements do their work of weathering the little hut, making it movie specific, their job was done. The eighth day was spent viewing their handiwork, and then it was time to board a plane and go home with the knowledge of a job well done. 21 It's pretty amazing how much fans can accomplish, and Star Wars fans are some of the most dedicated in the world. This is just a small handful of the amazing things Star Wars fans have created over the years, and I'm sure I've missed some great ones. If you have any more, post them in the comments.

A writer in spirit, a baker by profession. Carl has been a comic shop impresario, comic book illustrator, record store clerk, electronic musician, late night radio DJ, club promoter, graphic designer, and other cool things you wish you could be. He mistakenly had purple dreadlocks once. For three years. Which made him way less cool. He doesn't actually know what the word impresario means, and is way too lazy to Google it. Carl is also an American, and for that he apologizes.
