Star Wars: 10 Epic Lightsaber Duels NOT In The Movies

Darth Vader appears a number of times throughout Star Wars Rebels, and while he makes his first on-screen appearance in the show's Season One finale, this epic lightsaber duel is fans' first real reintroduction to Vader in his prime.

From Vader's dramatic horror movie-esque reveal against a column on smoke flanked by stormtroopers to the Sith Lord's effortless Force prowess and lightsaber ability, this is more Vader-splicing-through-rebels at the end of Rogue One than the slow clunky fighter first introduced in A New Hope.

Vader blocks, parries, and integrates smart use of the Force with his lightsaber combat with ease, making Kanan - who had previously come across as a more than competent Jedi -- seem like nothing more than a Padawan during the short but sweet encounter. During the whole fight it seems as though Vader is toying with Kanan and Ezra, seeming to enjoy watching them grow more and more afraid like a predator playing with his prey before the kill.

The pair only manage to escape after bringing down Imperial walkers on the dark lord. It might be a short fight, but this is a tantalising glimpse at the true power of Darth Vader.
