6. Darth Maul
The son of Mother Talzin, leader of the Nightsisters on Dathomir, Maul was trained by Darth Sidious as his Sith Apprentice, and assassin.
The first Sith seen in a thousand years, following Maul's reveal to the Jedi on the planet Tatooine, Maul proved himself to be a scourge on the Jedi, as he was commissioned by Palpatine to set in motion his plans for galactic conquest. Maul was trained from a young age by Sidious, and was vicious in his use of the Dark Side.
Although more brawn than brain, Maul grew to become a cunning warrior and an effective leader. Following his defeat at the hands of Obi-Wan Kenobi, and his madness-inducing exile, Maul bested his brother Savage Opress becoming a Master, and Sith Lord.
Maul was fuelled by his desire to enact revenge upon Obi-Wan Kenobi and Darth Sidious, and sought to defeat them both. Though his attempt on Palpatine's life failed, Maul lived on, plaguing Ezra Bridger, Kanan Jarrus and Ahsoka Tano throughout Star Wars: Rebels.
Darth Maul truly was a terrifying villain, and formidable user of the Dark-Side of the Force, defeating Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn and holding off Obi-Wan Kenobi for a while, before he was sliced in two.
