Star Wars: 10 Nonsensical Changes In Various Special Editions

3. €œNooooo!€ (Return of the Jedi)

tumblr Hey! Were you ever confused as to why Darth Vader suddenly changed his mind at the end of Return of the Jedi and decided to save his son, chucking the Emperor into the core of the Death Star? No? Well congratulations, because you€™re ten times smarter than George Lucas gives you credit for! Apparently worried that letting the audience watch Vader€™s body language would be too subtle, Lucas felt it necessary on the 2011 Blu-ray reissue to add in Vader yelling, €œNo€.noooooo!€ before hoisting the Emperor above his head. Aside from being a callback to one of the most embarrassing moments in Star Wars history €“ the infamous €œNoooooo!€ at the end of Revenge of the Sith €“ it€™s a needless example of Lucas spelling out what was already pretty damn obvious.
